This past May, I celebrated my 6-year juicing anniversary! Ever since my nutritionist (now dear friend) Natalia Rose, explained the tremendous health benefits of juicing, the first thing I put into my body each day is my fresh, organic veggie juice. It infuses my body with all the vitamins, enzymes and minerals that my body needs. No need for dietary supplements! It's invigorating and my body thanks me for it every day with a strong immune system :)
So, I wanted to share an easy little juicing tip that helps make the cleanup faster:
Instead of throwing out the produce bags from the grocery store, I reuse them to line the pulp container. When I'm done juicing, I just pull out the bag, tie a knot, and throw it out. If you compost, you can use the fiber in there isntead of throwing it out.
I have the Breville Juice Fountain Elite ($300), the best juicer on the market in my opinion. It's got a strong motor and is incredibly durable. We use it every single day, sometimes more when we're doing juice fasts, and it's still strong as ever:


One less thing to clean and makes your daily juicing even faster...especially when juice fasting!
Finally, I wanted to share Natalia's recipe for "Green Lemonade" from her book, The Raw Food Detox Diet (btw, all of her books are brilliant and highly recommended):
GREEN LEMONADE by Natalia Rose
*GET ALL ORGANIC INGREDIENTS IF YOU CAN
1 head romaine lettuce or celery
5-6 stalks kale (any type)
1-2 apples (As needed for sweetness. Go for green apples first, they contain less sugar, then Fuji)
1 whole lemon (I like to cut off the peel)
1-2 inches of fresh ginger
Put all the ingredients, one at a time, through the juicer and enjoy! This is a recipe that even kids love. My 10 year old nephew drinks it without the ginger. You can make it taste like green apple juice for kids and they'll get all of the great health benefits. If you feel like you need more sweetness, add another apple or more carrots. Eventually, you want to switch out the apples for carrots as they contain less sugar.
